Honors College/GPPA Information

The UIC Honors College fosters a community of academic excellence, connects students with premier faculty, and promotes civic engagement and leadership opportunities. Guaranteed Professional Program Admissions (GPPA) allows a limited number of first year students per year to be admitted to UIC with guaranteed admission to one of several professional degree programs. Students follow a specific curriculum and meet established performance criteria to maintain guaranteed admission. Join representatives from these selective programs to learn more about the benefits and requirements for admission to each.

This event is designed to follow the general UIC 101 Admissions Session and campus tour, it is recommended to register for both sessions.

College of Business Information

This event is designed to follow the general UIC 101 Admissions Session, it is recommeded to attend both. Registering for College of Business Information Session will hold a space for you in UIC 101. A member of the Business Admissions team will highlight the opportunities in the six majors and six minors offered in the College of Business. The Business session will be followed by a campus tour including a look inside Douglas Hall, home of UIC Business.

LAS Information

Join the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) to explore the great opportunities available within the College. LAS offers a variety of undergraduate study areas including Biological Sciences, Psychology, Criminology, Law & Justice, English, Biochemistry, Communication, Economics, Chemistry, Sociology, and many more.

Our academic advisors are skilled at assisting undecided students to research opportunities to explore their academic and professional interests. The College offers specialized advising for students interested in pursuing future professional studies in a variety of health careers, including pre-medicine, pre-nursing, pre-pharmacy, pre-dentistry, pre-physical therapy and additional pre-health professions. LAS also offers opportunities to connect with college faculty and advisors through first-year seminars, the LAS Internship Program, and undergraduate research opportunities.

First Year Visit

This program, targeted toward first year students considering UIC, includes an overview of the university and admissions information.

The information session is followed by a student-led walking tour of UIC`s East Campus and residence halls.

Visit

Students are encouraged to register to attend an information session and campus tour to learn about UIC academic programs and opportunities, admission procedures, financial aid, housing, campus life and to have any questions that you may have answered.

The information session is followed by an optional student-led walking tour of UIC`s East Campus and will include visits to areas of campus that are of special interest to transfer students.

Visiting during the week while classes are in session is a great way to experience what it is like to be a UIC student.

UIC Preview

One of the best ways to see what UIC has to offer is to experience it yourself by attending a Preview Day. We offer both Freshman Preview Days and Transfer Preview Days. There is also a Health Sciences Preview Day, which is open to both prospective Freshman and Transfer students interested in health related academic programs.

You will be able to:

  • Meet with a representative from your academic area of interest.
  • Take a campus tour.
  • Meet current UIC students.
  • Learn more about financial aid, admission, housing, academic support programs, the Honors College, and more.

The programs begin at 9:00 a.m. and concludes around noon. Please note that each Preview Day agenda and campus location may be different. Your time and location will be confirmed upon registration.


Admitted Student Tour

Admitted students are invited to visit campus during select days throughout the spring semester. During these visits, students can interact with a student panel, have a brief overview of the university and next steps with an admissions counselor, and tour the campus with student tour guides.

Please note, this program is not orientation, and you will not be able to register for classes at this session, but are invited to ask general questions about the process of enrolling at UIC.


Veterans Information

This program includes transfer information for veteran students. You will learn how to navigate the GI Bill process and how to expedite the use of your education benefits.

The veterans information session will include a general admissions presentation along with a veterans presentation that will discuss what you can do today to be on track for education benefits, what benefits you qualify for, how to receive you letter of eligibility from the VA and how to fulfill your requirements with the university to stay eligible.

Guia para estudiantes admitidos

Admitted students are invited to visit campus during select days throughout the spring semester. During these visits, students can interact with a Spanish-speaking student panel, have a brief overview of the university and next steps with an Spanish-speaking admissions counselor, and tour the campus with student tour guides.

CADA Information

Join the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts (CADA) to learn about our programs.Our college offers accredited pre-professional and professional programs in Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, as well as Studio Arts, Photography, Moving Image, Music, Theatre, and the academic discipline of Art History.

This information session meets at 1pm on the Third Thursday of every month on the second floor of Jefferson Hall and is followed by a walking tour of CADA facilities. You can also see images of our facilities, and student work on our social media sites; Instagram and Twitter @uic_cada
